Here Klaas is giving us "peat" which is a play on words of the type of cake it is (lots of peat in the area).
Outside the green school building. The heating comes from geothermal.
Industrial arts area.
Three story building inside the building for the students to work on.
Classrooms overlooking the work area.
Forrest on the wall from a distance and it is a mosaic up close.
The 'transparency' of the whole school caused quite a stir--this is the look into the men's room. The women's room has the same type of glass windows.
Welding stations.
As the project, the student built the second vise.
A local company has a CNC machine in the lab for the students to learn on too. They company worker is making dies for the spraying of glue on diapers for production in the US. Could very well be going to Procter and Gamble in Green Bay.
The school has students patrol the other students with great success. The students volunteer. They wear these vests when walking around.
At our next school they have a horticulture program--the school space is shared with three different colleges.
Will and Karen walked down the stairs (we suggested taking the goggles off). The student demonstrated for Will what it might feel like if someone was not in tune with Will's restrictions--and how unstable he could become.
They had all of us use a walking device (crutches, wheelchair, motorized cart, etc.) to go to the school's home that they had updated for an elderly person to continue to live in. It was a great experiment to feel what those who are physically restricted are feeling.
Our third school was the maritime school at the North Sea. This is a simulator for the bridge of a ship.
Able Tasman was a famous sailor.
You could see Germany from the 6th floor.
Germany on the far right, across the waterway.
Ships engine for the students to work on.
Waukesha/Dresser!
I went downtown later in the day and this marketing display of jeans moved in a circle every 20 seconds or so. Really caught your eye.

We hiked the Abel Tasman Great Walk on South Island , New Zealand so Abel must have sailed there!
